Salou Travel Guide
Shopping:There is a good selection of souvenir and fashion stores in Salou, and those who want to go on more extensive shopping can travel by train to the nearby popular zone of Barcelona. On Mondays, shoppers can find very interesting things in the flea market of the old town centre.
Restaurants: Good Spanish and seafood restaurants are relatively cheap. Tourists can also find nice British tastes.
Nightlife: Salou is large, with loads of pubs and bars, many catering for British tourists.
Activities: Watersports such as banana boats and windsurfing can be found at the main beach. Port Aventura can provide entertainment for two days or more, while the go-kart track and the aqua park in Pineda are great fun for kids of all ages.
Beaches: The huge beaches, with abundant fine sand, make the Costa Dorada the best choice area for fun family holidays, very appropriate for children and elderly people as well. Salou is also known as "Beach of Europe" because has passed all the quality tests (blue flag awarded) for the quality of its sand and its sea water.
The "Av. Jaume I" is a great sea side location full of children's parks, palm trees, parking lots, and one of the most impressive beaches around. The main beach here is the "Platja de Llevant", the longest and by far the most visited beaches in Salou.
