Costa Dorada’s has plenty to show, particularly the main regional city of Tarragona, which was an important army base in Roman times and today boasts historical ruins and a variety of museums. Excursions inland, olive groves and almond plantations, take in the quaint medieval city of Montblanc with its fine Gothic church, and there are some interesting monastery ruins dating back to the 12th century at Poblet.

Spain's official currency is the Euro .Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels. Be aware that all major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops and ATMs are widespread and is undoubtedly the most convenient method of obtaining money.
Climate
Spain is extremely hot during mid-summer, in July and August.. The best time to visit is during spring or autumn, except for the Atlantic coast, which has heavy rains in October and November. August is the busiest month, while May and October are the best times to visit Costa Dorada as its whether is ideal and it’s not very croweded .
Visa and Passport
British citizens must hold a passport , but no visa is required for a maximum stay of 90 days for those holding a passport endorsed British Citizen, European Community, British Dependent Territories Citizen or British Subject. Spain has a reciprocal health agreement with most EU countries, including the UK, providing free emergency health care at State run hospitals. You would be advised to take a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you . Also be aware that private clinics are not covered, and the scheme gives no entitlement to medical repatriation costs, nor does it cover ongoing illnesses.
Tipping
Hotel and restaurant bills usually include service charges, but additional tips are always welcomed In restaurants tips of about 15% are expected. Also drivers of metered taxis expect tips of 10-15%. It is customary to tip small amounts, usually 5-10% for most services, including guides.
